Heba Khalil named Emgage New York Executive Director

NEW YORK: Emgage is pleased to announce that Heba Khalil has been named Emgage New York’s new Executive Director.

Khalil has served as New York Legislative Associate for one year.

“In her previous role as Emgage New York Metro’s Legislative Associate, Heba went above and beyond in advocating for and nourishing the Muslim American community in the New York Metro area. From being at the forefront of the chapter’s signature annual project, Muslim Day at City Hall, to working with multiple stakeholders, such as legislatures, community organizations, and faith leaders in New York and New Jersey, to engaging with Governor Hochul’s team to ensure that the governor won the Muslim American vote, Heba was consistently an outstanding leader with no shortage of humility and grace,” said Emgage CEO Wa’el Alzayat.

Khalil previously worked as a Policy Analyst for the New York City Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender Based Violence, as well as a domestic violence and sexual assault case manager and advocate at the Arab-American Family Support Center. She currently teaches courses about Theater, Film, & Politics at St. John’s University.

“I am thrilled to be named Executive Director of the New York Metro Chapter. Looking forward to expanding our team, deepening and strengthening our relationships with Muslims in the tri-state area, and seeing our dreams come to fruition in the New Year and beyond,” said Khalil.
