Emgage is seeking qualified and inspiring individuals to serve on our National Boards of Directors for the term beginning in 2024. Emgage is a leading civic engagement, voter mobilization, and issue advocacy organization that empowers Muslim voters in pursuit of healthier communities and society.
Emgage has been recognized as a leading data-driven Get Out The Vote organization through the historic Million Muslim Votes (MMV) campaign that was instrumental in turning out over 1 million Muslim voters for the 2020 presidential elections. Emgage educates and engages policymakers on key domestic and foreign policy issues that affect us as Muslims and as Americans.
Our advocacy is centered on ensuring dignity and human rights of individuals at home and abroad and our personnel reflect our values of diversity and inclusion. We seek to continue with this tradition by welcoming a diverse set of proven leaders and changemakers into our next class of board members.

Board Job Description:
- Determining the mission and purposes of the organization
- Selecting and evaluating the performance of the CEO
- Strategic growth and organizational planning
- Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management including oversight of fundraising and resource development
- Enhancing the organization’s public image
- Assessing its own performance as the governing body of the organization
Each individual board member is expected to:
- Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs;
- Faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements
- Serve as ambassadors for the organization;
- Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve the organization’s mission;
- Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy;
- Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings;
- Follow and abide by the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions;
- Sign an annual conflict-of-interest disclosure and update it during the year if necessary, as well as disclose potential conflicts before meetings and actual conflicts during meetings; and
- Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of the organization.
