Dr. Tayyib Rana is a world class eye surgeon and physician who strives hard to ensure that his patient population receives the best treatment options currently available. He travels extensively to teach as well as continuously learn the latest treatments in eye care. This makes Northern Virginia Eye Institute a center of cutting-edge excellence. Dr. Rana has great interest in refractive surgery including refractive cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He was amongst the first eye surgeons in the United States to perform Femto Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (FLACS). He was also amongst the first eye surgeons in the country and the first in the Shenandoah Valley to perform TECNIS Multifocal, TECNIS Symfony, TECNIS Toric, Alcon PanOptix, Alcon Vivity, and TECNIS Eyhance lens implants. He is the first eye surgeon in the Shenandoah Valley to implant the Glaukos iStent and the Allergan Durysta implant for treating glaucoma.
