Marrayam is passionate about strengthening our democracy and increasing opportunities for civic engagement and leadership, especially among individuals from historically underrepresented communities. She most recently served as Deputy Training Director with Joe Biden’s campaign in Pennsylvania. Prior to this, she worked on Pete Buttigieg’s presidential primary campaign, Jahana Hayes’ congressional campaign, and Senator Chris Murphy’s Fight Back CT. Marrayam is very passionate about women’s empowerment and gender equality. Prior to jumping into electoral campaigns, she worked at Vital Voices as a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist. There, she managed the data collection, analysis, and reporting of the Vital Voices GROW Fellowship. Marrayam also worked at Grameen PrimaCare supporting the development of a healthcare program for predominately undocumented women and their families in NYC. 
Marrayam is currently at the ACLU where she supports development training needs. She is also a 2021 Trainer with the National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC).
