ADVISORY: “Muslim Americans’ Inauguration Celebration: Engagement Priorities for the New Administration”
Washington, D.C.- Emgage, alongside other Muslim organizations including the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Islamic Society of North America, and the Illinois Muslim Civic Coalition, will be hosting a pre-inauguration event entitled “Muslim Americans’ Inauguration Celebration: Looking Ahead to Engagement Priorities With the New Administration.” This Muslim community conversation will reflect on the past four years of the Trump administration and anticipate Muslim engagement with the Biden-Harris administration.

Previously, Emgage spearheaded the “Million Muslim Votes” campaign, which turned out an unprecedented number of Muslim American voters (well over one million) during the 2020 presidential election. Emgage Action hosted the “Million Muslim Votes” Summit, featuring President-Elect Joe Biden, in which he historically addressed Muslim Americans, and infamously vowed to end the Muslim Ban on the first day of his presidency, amongst other promises.

“The overwhelming majority of Muslim Americans voted for the Biden-Harris ticket. Now, we must ensure that our most important policy issues are addressed by the new administration in a collaborative and productive manner. We are excited to celebrate this moment and to get working on so many important issues together.” – Wa’el Alzayat, CEO of Emgage
