Emgage announces launch of the Muslim Civic Table, convening program for Muslim communities
WASHINGTON, DC: Emgage is pleased to announce the launch of the Muslim Civic Table, a new program dedicated to strengthening and connecting Muslim communities, nonprofit organizations, community advocates, and political leaders. To be run at a state level, the Muslim Civic Tables will work to advance equality, justice, opportunity and strive to engage, educate, and activate the Muslim community in the democratic process.
The program will be rolled out officially in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York starting January 2023. Virginia / DMV, Florida, and Texas chapters will be launched soon thereafter.
“We are thrilled to launch such an important initiative,” said Emgage CEO Wa’el Alzayat. “The work of our state chapters, nonprofit organizations, community advocates, and political leaders are extraordinary, and this is yet another way of engaging with and uplifting our communities. The Tables will focus on issues most important to their local communities, including voter rights,combating hate, healthcare, education, and crime.
