Emgage Pennsylvania announces Philadelphia Muslim community mayoral candidate forum

PHILADELPHIA: In partnership with the Muslim League of Voters of Delaware Valley and the Pennsylvania Muslim Civic Table, Emgage will host a mayoral candidate forum in March 2023.  

The event will take place on March 18, 2023, from 5-7pmEST, at Masjidullah Center for Human Excellence, located at 7401 Limekiln Pike, Philadelphia 19138. 

“We are incredibly excited for this critically important event, which we hope will allow Muslim Americans in Philadelphia to hear from and engage with mayoral candidates, and thereby make an informed decision while selecting their next mayor,” said Salima Suswell, Executive Director of Emgage’s Pennsylvania chapter. “The Muslim American vote is critical in the upcoming mayoral election. We need Muslim Americans to cast their ballots and ensure that our voices are represented in electing the next leader of our city.” 

Salima Suswell has been a strong advocate for the Philadelphia mayoral candidates to listen to Muslim American voters. She expressed her views in an op-ed published by City & State Pennsylvania.
