Emgage responds to mass shooting in Alabama that left four dead, 28 injured

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Emgage joins the rest of the country in mourning the victims of the mass shooting in Alabama this past Saturday, April 15, 2023. The shooting left four people dead and at least 28 people injured.

“The scale and sheer devastation seen here are horrifying,” said Wa’el Alzayat, Emgage CEO. “The fact that these mass shootings have become so commonplace is an absolute tragedy for this country. We grieve for the community impacted and the families and loved ones of the victims. That this happened during a 16th birthday party, a place of safety and celebration, especially breaks our hearts.”

This marks the 162nd mass shooting in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Today is the 107th day of the year.
